Relax: Speed Boat Tour
Want to check out all the various islands around Salvador in style? A speed boat will get you around to all the attractions, like Morro de Sao Paulo, Valenca, Boipeba, Itaparica and Frades island.
You have 2 choices: a five hour tour or a 2 day tour (or more). With that decided, you can then choose the right type of speed boat for your tour.
5 Hour Trip
If going for the 5 hour tour, your best bet is to cruise around the bay, stopping at the various beaches on Taparica and Frades island. Crystal clear waters, calm beaches (on weekdays) with great seafood at most kiosks (mostly grilled fish, shrimp or lobster). As is expected, ask the rental company to fill up the fridge with party supplies and junk food.
Two day trip
If going for the 2 or more days tour of the region, the recommended tour is do the bay in one day and sleep in the boat or in an inn in Taparica. Inns aren`t hard to find.
Next day head to Morro de Sao Paulo (which is a 60km south of the bay), an hour`s trip. There you can see all the attractions, party and sleep there.
Next day, hop over to Boipeba, which is even more relaxed than the last two, as it is less touristic. At the end of the day, tell the captain to head back to Salvador with a “Captain, set course for Salvador....we`re heading home!” Arms behind your back and stare at the horizon.
