Capoeira Lessons

Image    You can either sit around waiting for the sun to come out, or you can go learn a few capoeira moves! Really! There are  two capoeira schools you can call up any time and schedule private lessons (individual or group). Give them an hour to get  the instructors ready, and head over there.

Massage Parlor

You can also get a massage ( a real massage, not sex) at several massage parlors. The rates  range from $35 to $80 an hour. Most of them  specialize in Shiatsustyle massage, a deep muscle massage. Most have accupunture too, doesn’t hurt.

Fruit Tasting at the Produce Fair

Head over to Feira S. Joaquim with R$20 in small bills and try all the exotic fruits you can find. Check section food for  fruits.

Mall

Heck, you are bound to find a lot of the same international shops at the local malls (Levi’s, Armani, etc.) but some shops offer stuff at good prices you can’t find elsewhere: Brazilian pants for women (the ones that go up your butt), shoes and bags, beach gear.
Check section Gift ideas for gift ideas and a list of recommended malls.

Beauty Clinic

Image   Ladies: Hair cuts, facials, nails etc. are all so cheap in Brazil, that they are worth it whether it is raining or not. You can go to one these place and get the works (hair, nails, waxing, facial, massage etc.) for under R$200.
See section For The Girls.

Museums

The museums listed on section Day Option - Culture may offer enough content to last  few hours without boring you to death.

Image Smoke a Cigar

Heck, it takes 3 hours to go through one. If you have never smoke but want to try, just calmly puff till the nicotine starts to sink in, usually within 15 minutes

Brazilian Jewel Tour

Brazil has the largest variety of precious and semi-precious stones, which helped speed up Brazil’s colonization. Most shops offer a free tour of the stone mining, jewel designing and handcrafting process. If you are into buying, Lauritano Jewel shop has some of the best prices, since they own the emerald mines, cutting out middle men.
